1. Buttons
Oh no, you’ve popped a button on your favourite shirt or
from the side of your overalls, or the top of your jeans. What a tragedy… More
like WHAT AN OPPORTUNITY!!!!
This week, I’ve spent way too long (we’re talking hours…) in
the button isles at Spotlight and Lincraft, there are thousands of different
buttons! They have wooden bunny ones, golden emblem ones, plastic lady birds,
shiny suns, little apples and everything you could imagine. Regrettably I only
bought two little buttons, one with blueberries on it and the other with the
cutest little strawberries.
Its crazy how something so tiny can change your whole vibe
but will probably still go so unnoticed by the average Joe.
2 . Socks
If you know me in person you’ve probably noticed I have an
unhealthy obsession with socks. Just last night I scrolled through every pair
of socks on http://sockdrawer.com. When I
check the shopping cart at the end, I looked at the total cost, laughed then
closed the window, I’m sure you’ve done that too, just maybe not with socks. There’s
something about having cute socks that makes me smile. Even if no-one else can see them, pushed down
inside my boots, tucked under my baggy jeans, they bring with them a cuteness
guarantee that even my dad can’t deny. (And they’re super cosy, in this drizzly
weather!!) 3. Stickers
When you were 5 or 6, everyone knew stickers were THE game
changer, (I still have my sticker collection plastered to my cupboard door) but
somehow we’ve all forgotten how much they can lighten things up. This year, my diary came with a sticker sheet
tucked in the back and I’ve only just got around to sticking the stickers. I especially like how they are on transparent plastic (also makes them easier to peel off once I've changed my mind, which is more than likely to happen)
4. Scrunchies
Scrunchies are super quick and super easy to make with
leftover scraps of fabric and a bit of hat elastic. That means you can make a
scrunchie in any fabric to suit every occasion (and every outfit!!). If you’re
not the DIY type, don’t worry you can usually buy them pretty cheap too. I find
them comfier (is that a word??) than regular hair ties because they’re softer
and usually looser on your hair. I have so many, some store bought, made by
mum, made by friends and even I can make them.
